now that we have two different strains of amel in the cb fatty population, it might help to have a distinct name for the first strain.
obviously urban's "Caramel Albino" is easy to tell from the other by its name, but what do we call the first strain to keep things simple and clear?
i found this which might offer an easy solution.
its the earliest reference to an amel african fat tail gecko i can find.
as such, i suggest calling the first amel strain the "stephens amel", named after the author and original breeder. It seems simple, fair, and helps capture a little part of aft history.
what do you all think? does anybody know an earlier breeder of the amel aft?
