ROFL :main_laugh:

I can't believe i'm going to do it for my gecko! If it's good for her and she enjoys it I won't deny it. You should do like me and try like a few roaches see how you can handle them and if your gecko likes them. I'm starting off with 15 to see if she likes them. If they work out I might buy in bulk or breed but first i have to see if I can physically handle them. Lol

Wish me luck!

*hands you all of her luck, then begins twitching at the thought of roaches and the squirms and sticks our tongue in disgust*

Hey if im willing to take the plunge you can!!

I'll be trying roaches VERY soon!!! i'm preparing mentally for it.. lol

Nothing can prepare you for dozens of full grown roaches in a cage

These suckers creep me out!
They are big enough to move things around in there tank.
Every day when I look in there, it's all re-arranged!!

Did I mention, these suckers creep me out??!!

They are fine when just little nymphs, they almost look like "rolly-polly" bugs (as we called them as kids).

They grow up way too fast.
Once they they are to big to eat, they are worthless except for breeding, and you dont need 2 dozen adult males.
You need to weed them out so they dont over populate your tank.

I always keep about 3 males and about 6 females.

Though I have had mine for several weeks (as adults) I have not seen the first baby roach, and I keep them at 92F, and they eat better than I do!!!!

I will wait another month, then, if no babies, I will just feed them all to my leos. The ones that are too big, I dont know what I will do with those, maybe get out the can of "Raid"!! :main_laugh:

If you have ever spent years of city appartment living, you know the dread and loathing of ROACHES!!!!!!!! :D

I still cant believe I actually PAID to have these things in my house!! :main_lipsrsealed:

You still don't have any babies nats? That's crazy, I've got TONS of them. I'll have to take pictures when I take the egg crates apart and clean tonight...I was amazed last time I looked!

What are you feeding them?

Nope, not even one little baby! :(

And I dont disturb them or anything like that. I have been using mealies
and crix while I wait for my baby roaches but so far, zippo!!

Do you think maybe they are over crowded and wont breed for that reason?

I am feeding them roach chow made by the roach guy, carrots, apples, pears and Fluker's cricket quencher for moisture. Oh, and various greens like kale, etc, when I have it. They have a UTH that covers the whole floor, and I keep it at 92F and check it with my laser thermometer.

I go trough www.reptilefood.com it is 10$ for 1,000 and I have had good luck with them for years

I have never ordered from them before.
How do they pack their mealies, in bedding, or in newspaper (like NY Worms does)?

It's tricky to transfer them, but I prefer the news paper packing.
That way, I can transfer them to whatever bedding I want.

Hmm....the only difference you and I have is I have a heat pad (human variety) under ONLY half of the tank...the side with their egg crates above it. I have no idea how hot it is in there, but they apparently LOVE it...I'm about to clean their tub, so I'll post pictures for you to see all the little zippies running around!
