Got a couple of females from EBV on Tuesday. Letting them settle in.
Wanted to expand into something new and thought a lot of people were going hognose. Hognose have never caught my fancy. Don't get me wrong I think they are beautiful animals but I never desired to keep them. statik's thread sparked my interest and I knew I had seen them before. I found them in a couple of my many herp books and from there I wanted more. started Googling&YT them and from then on I was hooked. handling a C. b. australus at a local reptile shop did not help.:D

Here are shots of their enclosures I took before receiving them.
this is it for now tell they get bigger.

They are both between 14-16 grams
CBB on 7-30-09 feeding on pinks
Keeping the handling to a strict minimum with a short photo session. no more messing with them tell they eat next week.

Candoia are interesting little boas. I produced a litter of paulsoni back in the mid 90's and I just remember how hard it was getting some of the babies to feed! They are awesome snakes though, and under appreciated IMO.

Those Boas are really cool. I have wanted a Santa Isabel Island Ground Boa for some time now. Those are among my favorite Boas. I don't see them available very much at all. I always hear that they are hard to switch from frogs to mice. I still would love to have one someday.

Thank everyone. One of the many great things about these boas is the females max out at 4-5 feet and the males from3-4 feet or so I have read. I would mine if they got a little bigger. 6' would propably be pushing it for a big female.
