You lucked out on getting that Emerine! I was within a click or two of buying her for a couple of weeks, and then you snagged her! Good on ya'! There's something about that gecko that I really like. Nice additions.

They are very nice but if they both carry or poss carry the giant gene shouldnt they be bigger then the weight to hatch ratio? I have tremper boys hatch late 10/11 and already 50g mine do not carry any giant genetics. Just confused...

these 2 girls will live with my Lemy once I can lift the quarantine they will be under
I got a question. Is it safe to quarantine juvies of both sexes together?
I plan on a 60 day quarantine once I have them here All are gonna be from the same breeder.
I want to get another male and figured maybe I could set up a 10 to 20qal Quarantine tank. I had a 5gal I was gonna use but I was thinking about getting the male. He would need a bigger tank. Males I'll alone. And all my girls together I'll only have 3 of them in a 40gal my females will have plenty of room.

Hi Joey, Those weights are a little outdated. Its hard to keep constant weight records on all of my geckos. I usually update them every other month if a gecko hasn't sold yet.

Also, how much you feed has a big influence on weight. I am a firm believer in not pounding my geckos with worms until they explode. Yeah they don't hit the "giant weight rule" by one year(if anybody still even believes that) but they do grow just as large and are more prolific in the long run. Most of the geckos I have received with high weight to age ratios ended up being poor breeders and go off food for months their first year anyway. This is true in a lot of species of reptiles. More food is not always better.

By the way, the giant het tremper's father was 146 grams last week and is nice and healthy. He eats a few dubias, supers, and mealies twice a week.

Hi Jake,
You should be fine with quarantining the females. Just watch them at first since they have been housed individually their whole life. Just don't house the males together or geckos of great size differences and you should be fine. 40 gal is pretty big depending on the floor spacing. I would say the 20gal with a nice sized moist hide would be better for 3 females. Make sure to keep the uth up on the one side especially in a big tank like that. Also a good idea to cover most of the screen top to keep in the heat and humidity. Email me if you have more questions. Thanks!

My husband purchased an emerine het for eclipse possible giant from John (my Christmas present), she is thriving to say the least. I believe she will be a giant, she's so much longer than my normals
