Our little rescue passed on.

My little rescue, Ely finally lost his battle last night. He passed away from what the vet said was probably renal failure. He had gained 10( from 26 3 weeks ago to 36) grams and was more active. I was.....against most peoples advise starting to feel that maybe he would make it. His little body just gave out. He had been through alot and he is at rest now.
Thank you so much Marcia for answering my emails about the hepatic lipidosis and for the prayers. Your help was ans always is greatly appreciated.

Ruby, I'm very sorry to hear that Ely lost the battle. I know your heart is broken. These little ones that have such special needs find a special place for us when we work so hard to rehabilitate them. I know you did the very best you could for him.

Thank you all so much. I was sad that I couldn't save him but I do hope that in that little gecko mind of his he realized that he was very loved for the short time that he was with us. My husband burried him beside my beautiful minature peach tree. He will be surounded by beautiful flowers every spring. I'm not sure that I want to do anymore rescues for awhile. This one was hard to accept. It all could have been prevented if his last owner had just let me take all of them when he let me take Khayman and the girls. That is what makes it so hard. It was senseless. Thanks again for all the kind words and the support . I do appreciate it more then you know!

I'm so sorry to heat that, Ruby! He was very well cared for the last days of his life. It's so heartbreaking to lose one of these little lives. I am so sorry for your loss. He is at peace now.
