ovulating squirted at me?

I've been doing this a while but my female thats ovulating just squirted at me out of here vent, I was gently bending her backwards to check things out on her under side. and never seen this before.

that is frickin weird I've hed gecko's leo's for 8 years now and have never had a leo pee on me. I've had snakes and creasties pee and get "happy" on me that was weird. but never a leo but I've read a lot of your poast Aliza so I trust your opinions are you a vet. or something?

I am far from a vet, just a curious person who reads everything I can find and observes closely. I have had leos for about 6 years now and am still in love. My brother is actually a vet, but when he gets a reptile client, he often calls me for advice. Not about medical stuff, obviously, but about basic husbandry which, as we all know, is frequently why many people end up needing a vet visit. One of my geckos pees on me (and if I'm "lucky" poops as well) every time I try to get the stuck shed off his feet.

dam I was hoping you were because you live somewhat near me do you know of a decent herp. vet anywhere in the mass NH area all the ones in my area failed my test's horribly. also do you breed at all? If so what are you working on? I'm starting a few projects. P.M. me.

Many animals will do this. It's sort of a last line of defense.

Very much agree with Aliza.
I almost got it in the face one day.
Shot a stream from about
2 feet away when i was removing shed from the underside,
with a wet q-tip.
Forceful squirt that wet my shirt near the shoulder.

but she is the calmest leo I own she even climed right into one of my hand the only one that will do that she was as calm as can be and just squirt. she was'nt fighting at all, never in 8 years have I seen that.

Its called venting... Many reptiles do this in defence as Ken already pointed out...
