Painful?

Got my ~11 week old baby on repti-carpet. I watch him feed daily.. He's been caught on the carpet 3 or 4 times.. This painful for them? Anything I can do to prevent it? I mean, the obvious is to put paper towel down but, I don't like the look of it.. He breaks loose on his on every time, but, I want to ensure it isn't going to cause serious health issues or anything..

If the carpet is made of small loops, the gecko's toenails can become caught and tear off. I suggest putting paper towel over the carpet until the gecko grows larger and is less likely to lose a claw.

My babies sometimes get stuck on the carpet when they lunge for worms but they seem to get unstuck easy. It doesnt stop them eating anyway.

Its the Zoo Med stuff so its really thin and low pile.

I think theyre alright aslong as they arent having really bad problems with it but thats just my opinion :)
