Paper towel in tubs

If they are in a small area like a tub (plastic containers) you should take the poop out daily because the step on it. That will increase the chance of parasites or bacteria to them and you when you pick them up.

What makes you think tubs are small areas? If the give you more length and more width than 10 gallon tanks, how are they small areas?

I was watching someone build a vivarium i think it is.... the tall tanks out off a rubbermaid tub and used the tub as the backside and in the front cut a space out off the lid and replaced the space with mesh i would love too do this someday.

The half sheet paper towels work great in my rack setup.
