So my third clutch from my male Enigma Double Het Bell x Patty bred to a female Bell 66% Possible Het Patty was about to be thrown out this morning because both eggs were collapsed and brown. BUT right before I threw them out I noticed a little head poking out of one of the eggs, and so I poked the egg and this little tiny hatchling Enigma comes out, and I mean it is TINY, the smallest live hatchling I have ever seen. It looks to be just a regular Enigma. So I cut the other egg open, just to see, and there is a dead baby inside. It looks like a Patty and maybe an albino. It has red eyes.

So what do you guys think? Even if you do not think it is a Bell, does it look Patty to you? It does to me but I wanted to get some second opinions. Thanks.

The other possibility is that it is just a Bell Enigma minus much of the dark pigment.

That's what I think... There's nose spot and tail spot... Really sorry it didn't make it... Better luck with future clutches...

Maybe they could be paradox spots?? *sigh* Probably is just a Bell Enigma. I'm holding mom back, just in case. I'll keep you guys posted on the surviving clutchmate. I just tried to weigh it and it does not even register on my scale, which does 1 gram increments!

I wouldn't rule out that possibility... Who knows what the combo will look like (same goes for the BBBE)... Have you ever hatched a regular Bell Enigma that was so light in color? Some might say the pattern hadn't developed yet 'cause it's a premmie, but look at the clutch mate... Maybe you're right?

I truely have no idea as to what either is homozygously, but sadly have seen that situation myself first hand only to loose the tiny hatchling:main_thumbsdown:

I have hatched many a tremper line enigma that was void of pattern and was pink. A few sheds later they got a vibriant pattern. The latest was on a mack tremper X enigma het tremper and I swore it was a mta enigma, now I am unsure:main_rolleyes:

Enigmas sure are fun to ID aren't they ;)

Oh and I have had patternless with paradox spots, so it's definately a possibility.
