Peculiar noise

Dexter makes a verry faint squeaking noise from time to time. It's almost like the squeak of a pinky mouse, only much fainter. Does anyone else have a gecko that does this, and if so, what does it mean?

Leopard Geckos vocalize a lot, especially as hatchlings.

My male Dante usually "chirps" at me when he's ticked off. Like today, he had stuck shed on his toe and while trying to get it off (and got it) he kept "chirping" and hissing at me to put him down. But I have heard both make random noises from time to time while they're in their tanks.

lol i get freaked at those sometimes. it was dead silent in my room then all of a sudden...HISSSSSSSSS then a half gurgle type thing. I'm like WHOA!!! i had to jump up and look at the tank. daisy was on top of her green house looking at me like "What??" and Dalilah had her butt facing me, in the door of the house :main_laugh:

lol yea, I'll hear something weird or hear rustling or something... turn on the light and they're just staring at you like "hey, what do you want?"
Sometimes Dante will just run from one side of his tank to the other, for who knows what reason

My boys 'talk' all the time with the little whispery noises and chirps. My Crested does it too.

They grunt alot too especially if you pick them up and they dont want to be held. lol

My Tang. Tornado is a grumpy old lady. She is the only one of my Leos that hates to be handled. I'm surprised she hasn't bitten me. You should hear her protest. She must have been an APBT in another life, lol.

when im in my room sometimes i'll here a little chirp from the hatchlings lol and when i handle my geckos they just give you a little nip if they are in an uncomfotable position

none of my geckos have ever made a noise. even my female who HATES being held.

Yesterday when I picked Mandarin up from my cuff to place him back into his tank he made it known that he wasn't too happy about that with a little quacking sound. I swear, it sounds like a little duck! lol

Tiamat has made gurgling/popping noises at me only once and that was when I was trying to give her a bath. Other than that I haven't noticed them making any sort of noise.

Haha, I have a very grumpy gecko, he gurgles all the time, lol. One time he had trouble U-turn in the narrow space between his wood and the tank wall, I watched him and he just kept on gurgling. I guess in terms of gecko language, gurgles = %^&**#$ :main_rolleyes:

Yea, I also hear all sort of noises from my geckos (chirp, squeak, gurgles...etc), one of them is so loud that I can hear him squeak from another room!

These words (clicking & quacking) are what I hear too. I call it clacking. lol
