Does anyone use perlite as their hatching medium? I've been using vermiculite but I'm interested in trying perlite to see if there is any difference. For those that do or have what's your opinion and what ratio of perlite / water do you use?

I used to use vermiculite for the first few years i incubated. no problems with that with leos. The last few years I have been using perlite w/ Albey's method. no problems with it either.
30 grams perlite x .8 = 24g of water. w/ scale tare its 54g. if you want to add the weight of the container you can. with mine the entire weight when ready is 76g

Thanks for the info guys. 1 part perlite to 0.8 parts water. I'm going to try this method and also my vemiculite method or this season and compare the results. Though to be truly statistically significant it would take many different samples in order to find our margin of error. But I'll see how it goes.

I have used perlite exclusively (.8:1). I'm using it in the SIM but have to add 2-3 cups of water to get desired effect.
