Pickel Loaf (R.I.P)

My little rescue Pickel Loaf went to heaven this morning, i tried my best to save her, i kept her going for 5 months. She showed signs of pulling out of it, but in the last week she took a turn for the worst.

She looked very strange this morning walking around the tank in a panic, i took her in my hands and within 5 minutes she passed away in my hands.

I dont think i will take anymore rescues in, many times ending in sadness and heart break.

Oh no, John! I'm so very sorry you lost your little one. You did your very best, and gave her more than she would have had otherwise. It's so hard to lose them when they have fought to stay alive as much as we had fought to keep them alive... my heart goes out to you.

im sorry to hear that, im at the moment trying to save a rescue as well and things arent going as well as i thought they would be. 5 months though? That was a long time.

I know how you feel. I lost a rescue in September. I haven't rescued anything, not even the fish that I used to rescue on a weekly basis, since then. It's just a lot of heart break and stress.

I'm sorry to hear about pickle loaf. Rescues are very heart breaking when they don't make it. Atleast you gave her the best life she could have.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know how heart breaking it can be to loose a little one that you fought so hard to save and at times it seems easier to just never do it again BUT also remember that she had 5 months on tender loving care and she knew compassion that she may not have known if you hadn't have stepped in and tried. You did a good thing giving Pickle Leaf what was probably the nicest 5 months o her little life.
