I got my new camera! Yay! So I'm posting tons of pictures! lol. I am not that great at taking them yet so the pictures aren't amazing...One quick question, The close-ups are blue...why? Is it the flash or the paper or the setting on the camera?

awww fantastic!!! You've done such a great job with those images! One thing that could really make your pictures pop would be to change the depth of field to almost nothing, so most of the gecko is in focus... that works great for those long body shots when they're right up in your face!

I'd love to see some of Hera(is it?) so I can get her placed on the business cards for you guys!

Great collection

OK, you set the WB manually and it's wrong Also the flash on the XTI isn't made for close ups, so avoid it if possible.

Put that baby in AV and go nuts Malorie and with flash try 5500k - 5800k. Auto WB works 90% of the time and shooting in raw+jpeg will give you a raw file to work with if the Jpeg is too far out of wack.

All these images need is a auto levels in most cases or set the white point in levels(PS work)

Amazing group you have there, congratulations...

A sugestion for the close ups try to get lots of outside light and shut douwn the flash I believe that will prevent the blue

Thanks all! It was night so I was using the flash...

Paul- what is WB? Never mind, white balance...lol. I thought about setting it in AV mode....I had it set in P mode and the WB was set under tungston light, the the ISO set at 800...or 400. Will try some of your suggestions. I just haven't read the entire manual yet. lol. I'll get the hang of it eventually.
