Here are our new beardies...I really don't know how old they are other than the fact the male is a bit older than the female. THey are SOOOO sweet and the male seems to have taken to me. He loves to be rubbed on his back and talked to. The female is a little shy but has taken to us quite well. The male took a flying leap out of my mom's hands today. :p They are so goofy but are sweet non-the-less. Both are getting chopped green salad mainly composed of collard greens we grow in our garden. Also they are eating mealies and crickets. I've got a water bowl in with them and I've seen the male drink. Both are bedded on bran.

These are out from Draggin Tails....both are tangs het hypo...they will make a lovely couple in about a year.

Thanks! I think they are worth every bit of money. I love our geckos personalities, but these guys are just SOOOO friendly and cool and love to just chill. You can get a normal beardie at a show for a REALLY good price. The lady I got mine from was selling het citrus dragons for $45-$75...which is a really good price.

Great dragons! though I think they are a little young to be smoking. But then again I dont recall what the dragon years to human years ratio is.

Very beautiful dragons, I love their orange coloring!!! We love our geckos too, but I agree, dragons are way more chill and have some big personalities!!

Watch the bran bedding...
Very cute beardies. I hate mine. :-\ They smell so bad, even after I clean the tank the aroma is still in the room. My girls are like 3 years, but I'm already planning what to put in the tank when they're gone. I hate saying it, but they've been more of a hassel than anything. I'm so glad I decided not to get the luecistic male from my friend. I wouldn't be able to afford 1) feeding a clutch of babie beardies or 2) the overall smell! My dad would so kick me out if I brought home any more bearded dragons. He's threatened to sit their cage outside so many times.

lol. The bran was reccommended because it is easy to clean and can't cause impaction if eaten and they hate the way it tastes so they avoid it.

Ours don't stink so far.... Hope they don't stink too much. They are only 8 weeks old though...

Ours don't seem to stink..?? Although, maybe the reason I don't smell them is because our cats put off more of a smell than they do!

When my beardy poo's you can smell it through out the house. Plus, he likes to make it worse by pooping on the heating mat haha.

Right now I have mine on newspaper... I'd like to try something different for a substrate...ok so where do you get the bran? Is it purchased in the grocery store? I know, dumb question, but if I don't ask, I won't know!! thanks..

haha, I got the bran at a horse feed store, but you can get it at a grocery store. The lady from DragginTails has been using it forever and it was reccommended to her by a big name in beardies (some guy???). It's doing good right now. They don't eat it, it doesn't stink at all, and it's softer than sand.

My babies poops stink .. but its not from parasites or anything like that. problem is for me is that I have tile slates for substrate and when they poop while I am away at work the basking light ends up cooking the poop.

The worst part of my day is the first 15 seconds of opening the door to the reptile room when I get home from work.

Well .. that or when my fiance watches beverly hills 90210 reruns on the soap opera channel. I cant stand the opening theme song.

haha! Yeah, 90210 is pretty bad. lol. I would give the bran a try. It works REALLY nicely and is very easy to clean the poop off of. Ours just don't stink to me... ???

Anywho, these two are doing great so far! The male is a porker...he will eat up to 15 crickets a day if I let him. lol. I give him 10 in the am and let him eat as many as he wants then I take the extra out at night. The female likes her rep-cal juvie beardie pellets too. I moisten them and put them in with the carrots and greens. They really seem to enjoy their meals.
