I just fed my two of my geckos pinkies last night and today when they pooped it looked just like the pinkies did before they ate them. I know this is probably a really dumb question but I hope someone can let me know if this is normal. Thanks for your help,
Mike

If it was undigested or partially digested, it was regurgitated. Pinkies should not be fed to leopard geckos, they are very bad at digesting vertibrates. Do the animals a favor and feed them a quality, insect only diet.

I never thought that it could have been that. I also had one that did the same thing while eating Mealworms. Is this an issue with the gecko or just an issue with the Pinkie?
Thanks for your time.
I appreciate the help.

Normally with undigested food that comes out like it went in or regurgtated food means the temps are high enough for them to properly digest food.

Disagree with this plenty of people feed the leos pinkys and have no problems including me.My females have 2 a year and have no problems whatsoever. If a leopard gecko is regurgitating food i suggest you look at other factors heat being the main one.

do you mean they aren't hot enough. I am steady around 88-94 throughout the day. I am using an UTH and a 100watt red bulb. I do have one dominate one that may be bullying one of the others keeping him on the cold side.

Well think about it. There not designed to eat bone so to digest is alot easier and better higher temps are needed. I agree pinkies are unnecessary and risky. In the wild they dont get them. Their bodies arent really able to digest bone well which is what leads to problems.

If infact one is bullying the other seperate them!! bullying can lead to fighting and deathD:

Just curious... If a gecko will eat a pinky in captivity, what's to say they won't eat one in the wild? Are there no rodents in Pakistan for them to eat?

If they regurge worms with any frequency, I would have a fecal test done. That is one of the indications of parasites. As far as feeding pinkies- I haven't seen one care sheet that said leopard geckos aren't primarily insect eaters, so why feed a diet of pinkies? On another note- we took in two 6yr old males that had been fed a pinky diet once a week.. ugh. They weren't healthy and had to be rehabbed. Happy boys they were to get superworms!
