That's crazy Baoh. I'm sorry to hear one was lost.

It's a shame it died at a point so close to its own success, but it happens and it may have ultimately been for the best.

The false representation of the dam is still annoying. I'll raise up the hatchling until it's a decent weight and then likely sell it locally for some small fee, like $20, encouraging the new owner that it would be undesirable to breed her. This sort of thing is what I have complained about before with respect to breeders not understanding the histories and genetics of the animals they are selling.

Both offspring are non-albino, non-Eclipse Mack Snows. One banded and one jungle. That means the person that sold this as a TPA with weird eyes most likely sold me a Mack Snow Rainwater Patternless, as that's the only realistic option I can see from the pairing.

Another update:

It's difficult to tell, but it appears that the right eye might be a snake-eye. I guess I have to wait until it grows some.

If I were you I would go for a used fridge mini or otherwise often times you can get them for really cheep or even free especially if they are broken and don't work. You don't need it for its cooling abilities obviously.Except its sealed door and insulation. a good thermostat and some heat tape will do you and maybe a fan or two depending on size of fridge.

Maybe it's actually a light colored eclipse patternless? It came from an Ember project?

It's amel and it's had 2-for-2 Mack offspring so far that were not albino when bred to a Giant RAPTOR. The father is not a snow and the babies are not Tremper, so that leaves me with little else to conclude. The possible snake-eye is actually interesting, though. I'll have to check after it grows a little, but it may be Mack Eclipse triple het for Patty, Tremper, and Rainwater. Now I wish I had kept the corpse of the other baby to examine with a stereoscope to check its eyes more closely. If this eye stuff is due to the Eclipse gene, then the mother is Mack Rainwater Patty Eclipse, but I'll consider her Mack Rainwater Patty until I get more evidence.

She was part of my Ember project, but I don't know if she came from an Ember project. Going by the amel strain and the Mack Snow genes, I doubt it. She was sold as a TPA with snake-eyes that could be an Ember that the owner before me did not want to prove out, but the offspring prove she's not a TPA and is a Mack Snow to boot. Since nobody seems to have come up with the BPA yet, that would leave only the RW option. I really did not want to mess with this albino strain, although, *if* (big if) she's an Eclipse, then she's a rarity that likely arose by hidden hets from a project crossover well before she was hatched.

I need to get a decent camera one of these days so I can take eye shots.

Here are two shots of the dam Which I did not take and a really bad shot of the baby that I took with my low-quality camcorder.

That's pretty interesting. There are about a million explanations we could try to throw out there, but I think you're on the right track just letting it pan out.

This is the same mini wine cooler that was used for reptipro incubators. It works very well. I wish I knew of this site sooner though. Cause I paid $175 for mine. Only difference is that mine has a sticker on it that says Reptipro.
