This gecko hatched this morning, around 7 am, and noticed it had its eyes closed, so I figured no biggy, should open them. when I came back from school and checked on it, I noticed it still had not opened its eyes. I then checked 5 minutes ago, and still had its eyes closed. I wanted everyones feedback.

-incubated for female @ 81 degress
-74 days incubation period
-I also noticed, when i was about to throw out the empty egg, something gooey flew out, It was about the size of a dime. Here are pics.

The gecko is moving around normally, Im now starting to wonder if it even has eyes? :(

looks to be fine as your little one looks to be an albino of some kind and you can wipe her eyes with a warm wet paper towel and see if that works and also the thing that flew out of the egg looks to be the egg sack that the babies should have absorbed but if they fly out of the egg then that will happen sometimes,Good Luck.

try puting salen in her eyes buy puting a drop on her eyelid and use a Q-tip to wipe it with and see if that helps because she may have gotten some of the dust particles in her eyes from hatching, keep me posted and I will try to help you the best I can,Good Luck and I hope this works.

Have you peeked in at it in the almost darkness? Sometimes baby albinos just really hate the light for a while and clamp their eyelids shut. From the pictures it looks perfectly normal.

Keeping in dim light is a good idea. You also, as people have mentioned above, can moisten its eyes a few times a day. I don't think you have to wipe it off. I've had several babies with eyelid deformities whose eyes have ended up looking good after consistent moistening. I posted about one a few weeks ago whose eye I saw for the first time after its third (or so) shed. Her eye is usually closed, but today I'm seeing it a bit open.
