Two of my hatchlings, both are about 2.5 months old, there back legs are bending unnaturally and they are not able to walk properly. All my leos have a dish of calcium as well as get there food dusted every other feeding.

They are all individually housed.
Room temp: 82deg.
Hot end of tub: 90deg.
Staple food: Meal worms, occasional crickets, wax worms, and pheonix worms.
Bedding: Paper towels
Moist Hide: with soil
Water: Everday
Tank is cleaned 1-2 times a week

It looks like MBD to me but I have never had a leo get this in over 8yrs of owning them. So I have never seen it first hand. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I could post pics if needed.

Thanks:eek:   :main_huh:

Is there any possibility that the calcium you are providing is outdated? I have never dealt with MBD first hand, either, and this is just the first thing that came to mind.

Yeah, post pics. But I think Mike & Jess, might have hit it. That is the only things that sticks out at me, as well.

Yes, please do post a pic. That's what happened to my nine month old leo when he was young, the calcium I was useing had expired.

Here she is. I apologize it is hard to see without her walking, but the best way i could explain it is that her (human equivalent to the femer) is bending like it is soft. Leading me to believe it is MBD. But what is odd it come on suddenly in the last few days. About a week or two ago she started to eat less and last night we noticed for the first time her bones bending:eek: .

Besides, getting newer T-Rex Leopard gecko dust and liquid calcium, what should I do? Is MBD reversable at all? Our nearest (supposedly Herp Vet) is about 2hrs away and I am apprehensive about his knowledge of leos.

That is deff MBD. See her front legs, that's not normal at all. See has MBD. Is her d3 calcium expired? Cause that's what happened to my leo, who know has MBD.

Treatment

I dusted my leos food (the one who had MBD) three times a week instead of just twice. After a while his legs became none bendy, (still looks like he has it), and hard. His legs still look the same, just not bendy anmore, hard like reagular bones. :)

Sorry to tell you this, but your leo has MBD. Start doing d3 calcium three times a week.

Thanks guys for all the help. That is what I was afraid off. I just bought the calcium I have a month ago but didn't notice that it was expired. She will have a wonderful full life though if I get it nipped in the but correct?

Try to get some liquid calcium like NeoCalglucon (calcium glubionate), and administer about 0.1 ml daily. If caught and treated early enough, your little geckos should make a full recovery with little permananet disfigurement.
