So it's not 100% sure yet, but a girl I went to high school with NEEDS to get rid of her leo (never told me why) and asked if I would take it. I explained that I'm not home and she'd need to drop it off, but I agreed to take it for her. This was done through e-mail so I'm waiting on her response.

It's soo exciting :D

Only issue is idk how old the gecko is, whether male or female (she keeps referring to it as a "he" but I don't think she's sure) or what morph--so it's a complete surprise.

Probably won't be breeding it just because even if I can figure out the morph, I can't know the hets, but it's still awesome to have another gecko :main_yes:

I wish she'd get back to me sooooooner, ah!

I just learned that it's *most likely* female.

Also.

She's been keeping it on sand. I'm told she eats fine, etc, and I have no idea how long the gecko's been kept on sand.

Once I get her, I'm going to tile her cage, but just in case there's a problem, what are the signs of impaction?

idk the signs of it, but i hope the "most likely" female is ok!!
i wish you the best of luck with it and i hope the damage done by the sand isnt too bad or permanent..

Signs of impaction can include your gecko being less active then normal, and it may drink more water but eat less food.
Also the abdomen area may be more solid, or larger than normal and usually with dark blue discolouration.
Impaction can also cause rapid weight loss in your reptile.
If caught early you can try mineral oil to help it pass.
But more often then not, impaction can be fatal

Alright, I"ll keep an eye out. My friend claims she's in good health, though, so it's really just a precaution

My friend's going to bring her over to my house within the next couple of days--my sister's gonna take care of her until I get home (roughly 20 days). I HATE that my leos are at home :(

The only one I have here is Jasper, my Secret Easter Bunny gift

My friend's definitely dropping her off at my house tomorrow! I'm soooo excited. I just wish I could be home sooner to meet her!

I left instructions with my ENTIRE family to remove the sand from her cage, make sure she really has everything she needs, and to keep her quarantined (my sister wanted to put "her" in with the other girls--I told her that was a nono for a variety of reasons).

They'll be monitoring her habits for me, but she won't be officially sexed or named until I get home in a few weeks.

Wow... nice... cant pass up a free leo... especially if its a regular (I like the regulars more than anything). Hope she works out for you (which she most likely will). Congrats.

He arrived safely!

Well he's here. Yep, I said HE.

My dad says he's pretty sure it's male. From what I can see, he looks exactly like Felix so I'm guessing he's also a Mack Snow, but from the picture, he could also just be a normal.

He came absolutely starving! Ate about 15 mealies and then went into his hide. He's on sand, but my dad and sister will be removing that shortly.

Looks to be about the same length as Spike, so we're guessing he isn't quite a year old yet. I don't know for sure.

He doesn't like to be held, so I guess he wasn't handled much if at all, but he doesn't mind being hand fed, so he is used to people.

I'll post a better picture when someone from home sends me one.

I want to be home sooo badly right now!!
