Well I slowed down with the feeding. The problem now is that well. Either he is still throwing up food. Or he is passing food through his system and its not completely digesting it. His pellets still look like they have bug body parts. Whats going on? Could use some help. I have seen this twice since I cleaned his cage the other day.

well I was looking around and did see some white based poop after all. It had a puddle of brown around it though. So I'll just keep my eye out for more and see how they turn out.

well I have lets see the tank is at 80.. and I have a heat lamp on and a heat pad. so I can't see why he isen't hot enough. He has not had anything to eat all yesterday and today. So I'll feed him a little bit tonight then check in the morning and see how he is doing.

Also the heat pad and the lamp are on the same side. So if he wanted to he could get away. Just letting you guys now. Right n ow he is hiding in the new wet hide I made which is placed on the hot side so that the water from the moss inside can make it nice and moist inside for when he sheds.

I just realized something stupid me.. if the tank is 80.. and the pad makes it 5-10 degrees more he could be over heated in the 90's EW.. ;(

No, the warm side should be at least 90. It can range anywhere from 90 to 94. The cool side should just be room temp. And be sure to measure ground temps and not air temps.

to measure the floor temps you need to have a thermometer with a probe put on the floor and a uth would be a good thing to have

Hmm I dont know how I'm going to measure the temp of the hot side but i'll think of something. he just released pellets today and they still have un-digested bug parts. So yeah how sure what to do.. its not like I have any drafts or my windows open. Heck I even shut my door to keep the temp up.. hmm

Found out the problem had nothign to do with the heat. To many crickets. His poo is back to normal now.. thank god it was worrying.

Apparently my Gecko was as not as much as a pig as I thought 5-7 crickets is what I thought he was eating. no .. like 4 of those 5 were under the green mat I have in his change.. but when they would come up he would eat them reguardless of his hunger. I think Leo likes to hunt so much that.. well he disreguards his hunger and just hunts.. so I'm going to not feed him for a few day and make sure his poo is back to normal and go back to 3 crickets 2 even just to make sure.. but it wasn't the heat it was how much he was eating. :X Well learned my lesson.

And note.. baby gecko's shouldn't be eating 5-7 crickets a day thats why to much for their little tummies :(

Oregon Scientific makes a nice digital thermometer with a probe. You may be able to get it online and if you're in the Boston area they sell them at U-DO-It electronics in Newton off rt. 128 for about $10

My opinion is that temperatures are the cause of his digestion problems; also, the number of crickets he is eating should not have anything to do with how well they digest. I've heard of babies eating ten or more crickets in a day!

Get yourself an indoor/outdoor digital thermometer with a probe. It should cost less than $15. I think my current 'fancy' one cost me about $12; and the first one I got only costed about $8. I picked them both up in the hardware section at Wal Mart.

Temperature is so important for these little guys; it's not something to guess at and hope about. And the peace of mind that comes with having a good thermometer makes it worth every penny!

Well as of now his poop is back to normal. It was just over eating. He has gone to the bathroom 6 times and all 6 have been bug part-less.. but when I get the money to buy all these things I will..

You should have a thermometer to test the floor surface temp, and not just be guessing. You can guess that the UTH is raising it 4-5 degrees, but what if it's only 2 degrees, or 15 degrees? You need an accurate surface thermometer, either a probe fixed to the surface or an infrared or laser thermometer. The truth here is, you really don't know if the temps are between 90-94. Too low or too high and digestion suffers.

Well as of right now her/he poop looks completely fine. and there are no bug parts. And until I can "GET" the money. I CAN'T get a thermometer. With all due respect. I know what I need to buy. Back off. Thanks. Sorry if I come across nasty but knowing the gecko has problems and I need to work a little more before I can make sure he is ok. Its stressful. Thank you for all your advice. :)

Whenever I feed meal worms, they come out the other end almost completely intact.
