So I've always illegally harbored pets during my stay in college (mostly fish). Well I picked up my first gecko over the summer and needed a solution to keep my tank out of view (university policy indicates that that as long as something is not in plain sight, there will be no invasive searches of your room).
I also recall a while ago reading a couple posts about fellow college students "hiding" their geckos in their dorm rooms. So I thought I'd share my little diy solution that I built over the summer.

Problem no. 1: hide gecko
So I went to home depot and decided to build something around this shelf here:
Workforce Storage Organizer
It measures 36"x 18" and holds up to 150 lbs. per shelf.
After some brainstorming and roughly a day of measuring once and cutting twice , I came up with this:
I was pretty happy with my little project until I realized my problem no. 2... I had absolutely no room above the tank to fit my arm so I could do maintenance on the tank easily.
