This has been an on-going battle for quite some time now. Theres been alot of negotiations, rough drafts and proposals slung back and forth, but they're still a long way from coming to an agreement. Between organizations like USARK and just the sheer magnitude of reptile breeders there are, completely banning is out of the question, but I do foresee some serious changes coming.

i can see where they're coming from, wanting to ban them and all...

unfortunately it's just more problems caused by careless owners. people want and animal just to say they have it and don't consider that it WILL live long enough to reach full size. the "oh it won't live long enough to be a burden" attitude that all too many people seem to have is what leads to them being released into the wild. i see it all the time working at a pet store... especially with the turtles we sell. parents just assume it will be fine and dandy to just toss it in a pond after little bobby grows up and goes to college or gets disinterested, which ever comes first.

hey maia i live in pa, you can move up here with me :main_thumbsup: :main_thumbsup: :main_thumbsup: . we are aloud to keep what ever we want as long as its not endangered or native to pa. but that includes all the big snakes!!

seriously though i can tell you this, i try to fight those bans when ever i can because i know if i dont, than it will affect this great state, sooner or later.
