My boyfriend and I are looking to buy this pair of Purple Patternless Blizzards (That's what the guy is calling them). What do you guys think?

He's looking for $125 for the pair. Anyone have an opinion on whether this is worth it or not? He says he's been breeding this morph for a few years and that the "Purple Patternless" is genetic, so it will be passed on to babies.

Help? :3

Thanks!

I dont think "purple patternless blizzard" is a morph? Maybe midnight blizzards which are just dark blizzards or dark patternless. Either way its up to you.

Personally, I wouldn't do it. From that picture looks like those Leopards aren't kept in Prime condition, and if your going to spend that kind of money might as well get something healthy!

Generally, the cooler the cage temperature, the darker color of the gecko. It could very well be that the two in the picture have been kept in cool living conditions. Not always the case, but I've seen super dark Blizzards that were a result of being kept only at room temp, no under tank heater.

The fact alone that they are calling them a "Purple Patternless Blizzard" is rather funny..as there really is no such thing.

I have seen this guys... "shop" and his reptiles are all very healthy looking. I don't agree with his choice of substrate, but, what can you do about that. =X

I'm definitely going to think about it some more.
Thanks for the replies everyone.

So what is the price on this pair??? If the seller is trying to sell them for much more than a pair of blizzards are worth than I would not buy them... There is nothing special there... Infact I have a blizzard that truely is purple....

From what I have seen, and experienced.. Blizzards are always patternless arent they? The color can vary... but maybe this guy is just dressing up the name a bit referring to their "rare" coloring and lack of pattern (which that morph never has anyway) They look to be fairly healthy except for that stuck shed on the face... its a tough spot to get sometimes ;) If his animals are indeed healthy in person I don't think that price is too high considering they are adults .... I paid $50 for my baby blizzard and another $50 to ship him/her at the hatchling size of 2" and consider how much they would eat (cost wise) from the time they grow from a hatchling to the size those 2 are now... just my opinion. Have you asked how much would be taken off the price if you picked up the pair rather than having them shipped?

Blizzards can change color anywhere from white - to grey - to charcoal - and even yellowish depending on thier mood, temperatures, and substrate color. There is no such morph as a "Purple Patternless Blizzard", and the term "Midnight Blizzard" is nothing more than a marketing ploy to sell dark blizzards.

Kelly: I have not asked how much they would be without the shipping. I'll have to shoot him an e-mail.

Marcia: Wow. Thank you for that bit of information. ^^ You learn something new everyday.

The day I went to his shop I was kind of rushed. I believe those pictures that he had posted on kingsnake.com were fairly old. I only got a brief look at them when I was there. (My boyfriend was too busy obsessing over this gorgeous SHTCTB female. ^^; )
Anyway, I'll have to stop back over and look at them some more. Obviously before I make my final decision. =)

Thanks again!

I've seen some pretty nice blizzards on peoples sites for about $50 each full grown. With shipping a pair should be about $150 with a flat rate of $50 per package which many breeders do. So I would only pay $100 for the pair if I was picking them up. I guess if you really want them then you should get them :)

Another thought, when you do go there again to check them out.. I think it would be a good idea to see if you can handle them and see if you could sex them. Sometimes its hard to tell and if you are interesting in breeding them you would need to know before you buy. I have had geckos that appeared female and were late bloomers.. I now have 7 females and 5 males (not including my babies.. hoping they are girls) Just trying to help :main_yes:
