What about using argon or nitrogen gas? Unlike CO2 it wouldnt burn the leo's lungs and it'd just get sleepy, go to sleep, and never wake up.

I had a bird that was suffering from PBFD (Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease) when I was younger. It was horrible seeing the little guy suffer, so we took him to the vet and the vet suggested that the quickest, most painless way to euthanize was the cervical dislocation method. I'm glad we decided to do so, because it was over very quickly.

Although I am a newcomer to leo's, I am a veteran in the herp scene. I stand firm in that either smashing the skull, or cervical dislocation is the quickest and most painless way to end an animals life.

From what I understand, the freezing method isn't always the most effective. Not to stir anyone up or anything...

anyway, blunt force is the way to go imo

I Dont like to neccessarily like to think of bludging them with foreign objects is the key. My geckos are my pets, my friends, i dont breed yet, maybe this is why i dont understand, but i dont recieve any income off my friends, they accompany me. In my own opinion, without bashing anyone out there, i wouldnt have the guts to. The Freezer has been my method with previous companion

I saw mention of a C02 chamber, but has anyone tried Helium? Putting the baby in a sealed container (minus a small hole for the tank to be inserted into), may help. I have not seen this done on geckos, but I knew a breeder who did this to frogs for High School science classes.
