Ok.... learn as you go.

Here is my plan on the new Gecko I am getting.

1. I have the tank in a spare bedroom. Not next to any widows.
2. I have blocked off 3 sides. Room is quiet and low to no traffic.
3. Can use a space heater if needed to bring up room temp if needed.
4. Leave alone for the first day and try to feed the next.
5. Tank temp set at 93 in hot hide.
6. Tank has been completely cleaned with everything in it all sterile so no health issues should be of concern.
7. Keep to a min 30 day adjust period.
8. Feeding exactly what breeder used for feeding and method.
9. Tank is set with the exception to monitor temps.
10. Change water every day and clean poop.

Anything else?

4. leave her alone for at least a week. Have a bowl of feeder insects available at all times during this period, and monitor her food intake.

5. If she doesn't eat, consider bumping the temps up to around 95 degrees.

6. & 10. If other reptiles are in the house, make sure this new addition is taken care of LAST! Always start with your healthiest or oldest ones, and end with the sickest or newest ones..

I do need a name..lol. Any ideas based on how she looks? I was thinking of Dot because of the dot on her back...... or dotty with the dots going down her tail. Supposed to be a Bold Striped Jungle?

FYI... I always wash my hands after I feed my Geckos and crickets...ect ( including handling ) Think I read that some where?

I took the Bell to a local breeder and she was about to lay eggs! She LOVED it........ she had a Tremper but not a Bell Albino. So we worked out a deal on a "future" Leo...... so she could keep and breed the Bell. So the Bell has a new home with an experienced breeder.

How do you like your 20 long?

I talked to my granddaughter and she named her "Speckles"...... because of the extra spots. I agreed..... sounded good to me.
