Question about changing feeding routines

When I got my first set of geckos, I dropped mealworms in there for them and they ate that way. Well recently I bought another gecko and in the store he had a container with mealies in it 24/7. Well i set him up like that at home and I have to say it works out really well. Well i did that with my original 2 leos and they dont really seem to pay attention to the mealies in the dish. My question is if I stopped dropping mealies in their and just left the dish, do you think they will catch the point and start eatting out of the dish?

They may eventually and it's worth trying. Another solution is to put the mealie dish near the hide and to drop mealworms while they're watching into the dish instead of onto the floor of the cage.
