i went to my local petshop and picked up a couple of silkworms as I was told there very nutritious with a low fat count so i want to make it as a staple partially....since the employee told me they can die very easily and only feed on mulberry/chow my question is im planning on just feeding my leo 1 or 2 max a day so if i buy 10 would they last for 6 days?..

If you feed them at least once a day they will. If not they become dehydrated and die.

You may have a mulberry tree in your neighborhood (you'd know in July because there will be mulberries). I usually get an order of silkworms once every summer as a treat because I can harvest the mulberry leaves and keep them in my fridge. I got 1000 last week and they lasted 5 days.

If you buy the wet food just feed them, cover for 24 hours and then uncover for 24 hours. You want to make sure the food gets a chance to dry inbetween so that you don't get mold. Mold will kill them fast. If you can find actual leaves then you don't have to worry about the mold. I love silkworms as feeders because they are so easy. No having to dig mealworms out of substrate/food, chase roaches, etc. Hornworms are the same, BUT hornworms grow even faster than silk worms! So if you buy those you really do have to feed them fast.
