Ok... Not sure if I should have just posted this in the tattoo topic already started, but it's an idea I'm thinking about. I'd just like suggestions... So anyway, today on the way home, I got the idea of getting a tattoo of my ball python on my wrist; kind of like the idea that Cleopatra wore them around her wrists, giving them the name 'royal python.' But then, I was thinking that if i get a job that doesn't allow visable tattoos, i'm screwed; i'm already screwed with the 'chance' and pawprint on my other wrist. The difference would be that this one would go all the way around not just the underside of my wrist. So, my solution to that was on my ankle. Thoughts or ideas anyone?

i generally try and get tattoos. that can be covered by a shirt or pants. i do have two tattoos on my ankles and they are small but i do not wear dresses, only pants and sometimes shorts but like i said they are small. i think everyone should think about where they put their tattoos and how it could affect a job or whatever. good to know you are asking before doing that. i say if you have any reservations, don't do it.

i dunno... i think it's supposed that she wore bp's which is why they have the name royal pythons... just what i heard, could be wrong.

i know that i want the tattoo, just not sure where. i really would like it on my wrist, but i'm not sure since it would be on both top and bottom of my wrist versus jsut the bottom (which to me isn't as noticeable; i've had the one on under my right wrist for 2 months and my family hasn't noticed yet).

i also know that i want something on my other wrist eventually, i'm just debating on what. things have to be even... slightly ocd... :-/

I say go for it.

Times have changed. People have all sorts of tattoos in all different places now. I have one on the back of my forearm (right below the elbow) that shows all the time (whenever I bend my arm basically) and one on the back of my neck. I don't feel like I've ever been turned down for a job because of my tattoos, but ya never know. My feelings are that if they would really reject me because of my outward physical appearance, I probably in the long run would not want to work there anyway.... but I suppose it all depends on what you do for a living. Like Robin said, if you're not sure don't do it. But it does sound like a really cool design idea and I say go for it! that's what long sleeves are for. :D

Some jobs aren't going to care...a lot will. A larger tattoo like that would be good around your upper arm or leg where it's easy to cover. If you're in line for a career where it wouldn't matter, then more power to you.

While it's becoming more acceptable to have a tattoo (I think 1 in 5 young adults have one...or is it 1 in 3?), a lot of society still views them as unacceptable. Think very carefully before you put it in a highly visible place.
