Questions about moving, for Gecko's

I am going to be moving and it's warm outside right now, so when I ship them to my new address, will I still need heating pads? Take a day to get to me. What do I need to ship them in a box? I don't know that is why I am asking. Shipping UPS by the way, both gecko's.

I don't know what you exact situation is, or how far you are moving, but I wanted to say... A year ago we moved from Texas to Arizona, it was about a 14 hour drive and we moved with 3 leopard geckos, 2 ball pythons and a skink plus our furry friends. We didn't ship them, we just put them in some cheap tupperware with drilled holes in the sides and some shredded paper in the bottom and let them ride a long with us. When we got the hotel, we plugged in an under tank heater on side of the tubs for the night and then loaded them back up the next day. When we arrived at our rental house, we set them up first. Everyone was completely fine, we still have them all today and they are all healthy.
Just a suggestion, so you don't necessarily have to ship.

In a nutshell you will need a box, styrofoam, newspaper, a deli cup, labels. To find out how exactly to do this, search the forums or google online "gecko shipping". There are detailed instructions online. If you're driving, not flying, consider taking your geckos with you rather than shipping.

I'm going by bus and I doubt I can take Gecko's with me on greyhound. :main_laugh:

Also I notice when I feed them they don't eat much and this has been going on for awhile, or if they eat I am not seeing it and I always have to clean worms out, like I don't think they maybe eating. I know the worms I put in for my orange gecko still in the same spot, or worms crawling in the water dish, so I have to keep removing. Or maybe they just dont eat much when they are older. I don't know.

Put them in your carry on and be quiet about them, not like a metal detector will pick up on them and no hound will know the smell.lol

Stewy's right. It would really be so much cheaper, and probably easier on you if you just took them with. Put them in tupperware containers with holes drilled in, line the sides and bottom with paper towels so they can't see out, and put them in a carry-on bag/suitcase. Make sure they don't get shaken up, of course, but no one's gonna search your bags and geckos aren't exactly loud animals...

See that is another reason why Gecko's are so cool to have as pets. If you move you can take them with you, even in your suitcase. Where as a cat, or dog can't be so easly moved..Glad I waited on the cat, which I don't have.
I want a cat but I have to be moved and know I am going to be in my apartment for many years.
