Is it normal for a gecko to lick its anus? And what does it mean?

Occasionally, or after copulation (males) it is normal and probably means that they feel something there or it itches. Constantly licking is not normal.

Ok..so what is copulation? Also he's a male by himself...about 4 months old. At what age are they ready to breed? Thanks for the answers

copulation, is when they mate. they generally are ready to breed between 9-12 months of age and 50-60 grams in weight.

This is true. I have seen my leopard gecko do that and it made me think I may have a male, but I was wrong, she is a female.
