Radars?

So I have been scouring the internet at everyones geckos they have for sale and it got me thinking about the prices of Radars. It does seem like the prices have dropped some from last year but still pretty high for not really being a new "morph", just a new combo. I am starting to see a lot of them around, especially hets. I have a feeling that the market is going to get flooded with Radars this year. I know that there will always be high end geckos but there still going to be a lot of lower to middle end quality geckos out there. I was wondering what's everyones ideas about how much they will drop this year?

The thing with pricing on any gecko is that it only holds the "value" that someone will pay for it. Since it is recessive, once you have them they are very easy to recreate. There will be certain breeders who will be able to maintain high prices for theirs (justifiably so due to the quality of their geckos) but for the most part Radars are not going to be a top dollar morph (unless it is simply amazing). Within a couple years they will be as over worked as Raptors are and then we will all begin trying to peel genes off these geckos and start from scratch.

I understand supply and demand and the influence genetics have on prices but I am wondering what's everyones opinions will be on how much they will fall this year. I honestly think they will fall quicker then Raptors did. I know there will always be high end Radars, just like everything else, but I say the majority will be average in quality.

I think that the people who have been breeding them and maintaining the genetics won't suffer as much as the people who are just getting hatchlings this year from combining parents of different types. Fifty percent drop at least.

The average prices that I have seen for Radars and hets have been in between $200-$500.

For an example on the number of Radars out there right now, JMG has 9 pages of bells with most of them being Radars or het Radars. With 10 per page, that is about 90 Bell Albinos and about 80 of them are Radars or het Radars. Most of them are last years offspring so I can imagine how many more they will produce this year. Most Radars that I have seen aren't even worth the price they are selling for. I honestly think that pure eclipses should be more valuable then Radars are right now!
