Id suggest an older Leo since you are less likely to see health problems pop up from an established gecko. Also, babies are much more skittish and are therefore not easy to handle compared to an adult.

There is really not much different with adults and hatchlings besides the feeding schedule. Younger geckos may be more fragile but that doesn't mean they are harder to take care of or require more. I would say that along as the gecko is healthy and above 10-15 grams then you should be good whether it's a juvenile or adult.

All the above, but there are some people that probably shoudnt start off with the little ones because off lack off respect for the animal or what not, but if you feel confident and comfortable and not having your hands wrapped around the poor thing the whole time id go for it make sure u have all the supplies and setup before hand!

I started off with a 5 gram baby. They do take a bit more effort in that you have to be a lot more careful handling them, you have to feed them daily (mine actually ate twice a day), and you have to keep the tank cleaner (less established immune system and all). But as long as you have a good set up, there's no reason not to start with a baby if you keep up with the feedings. In my experience, babies like it a tad warmer than adults too - about 2-3 degrees warmer.

Edit: The one in my icon is who I started with, though that's not a baby photo.

That's what she looked like after I had her for three months, if you want an idea of just how small she was.
