Is the only qualification for giant a certain weight, or is it body type and size as well? I have a tremper albino that regularly is in the 115 gram range but I never thought of him as a giant? Should I be?

So the biggest is actually 167? That's interesting.

qualification for a giant would also include length too. If you notice the pic of my tremper its long and does not have an overweight look to him at all. He is just robust. He measures about 10 inches in length right now. :main_thumbsup:

Don't you have to know the exact genetics to actually call one a giant or super giant? what I mean is we have a Tremper albino giant male who is 11 inches long and he is 132 grams but the breeder just called him a giant not a super giant.

No you don't have to know that exact genetics (nice to know though). If its 11inches long and 132grams then its a super giant:main_yes:. If the breeder classified him as just being a giant then just consider yourself lucky:D

When the genetics are unknown then you can not tell a giant from a super giant until they reach the age of 10-11months. Super giants start at 110grams and usually over 10inches long. BTW the longest and biggest leopard gecko is 11 3/8" and 168grams.

Moose lived 6 years and capped out at 156 grams. He probably died early from bad genetics and lots of stress from breeding.

Well I wonder if giants in the gecko world are like the ones in the our world. When they're young they're strong and all powerful but with age they get more and more health problems and soon get weaker living shorter and shorter lives.. I would love to study the giant leopard gecko from like a biological stand point.

Great looking Gecko, though!!!
