Hey,
I was just wondering if anyone had a recommended UTH that they use?
I heard some pretty bad things about zoo med but does anyone have opinions about other UTHs for my gecko?

Thanks,
Hock3ymonk3y

In you other post I said this, but I'll say it her too. I really like FlexWatt heat tape. If you look at thebeanfarm.com you can find some for cheap. It is pretty high quality as well. They may even wire it for you! Deffinatly something to look into IMHO.

I have generally had no problem with zoo-med except for a few that stopped working --that's maybe 2 or 3 out of some 50 that probably comes through here. I like them better than many other brands because they seem to have more insulation than the ones that look like a wired up piece of flexwatt. I have also had very good luck with Zoo-med heat cable, which is a rubber coated heated cable that can be taped on the bottom in any configuration.

I use "Ultratherm Heat Pads" for all my tanks. So far so good.
(I bought them from Beanfarm.)

I use flexwatt for geckos and boas. Much cheaper and I can use the width and length I want.

I have used several kinds of UTHs and generally find zoo meds the best.

Alright, then that is what I think ill go with and ill keep track of the temps just to be sure.

Like I said, flexwatt might work great for some people but I dont think its for me, thanks though

I use them on all my
tanks and tubs with no problems so far.
But for a better price I can usually
find them on Ebay auctions.....
.Might want to check it out.
Take care. HJ

Yep, use zoo med here too

Just use a probe thermometer for your temps. The stick on ones dont work worth squat. They can be found at chain stores and reptile shops for like 8 bucks (probes)

I use zoo-med also but make sure you gat a thermostat or reostat to control the temps. Also I would recomend a infrared thermomature as you can check any place in your tank in seconds and they are around 15 dollars at radioshack and cheaper on e-bay

My zoo-med is a mat that sticks to the bottom of the tank on the outside
