I got a beautiful female pastel redtail boa for my boyfriends birthday in march. She is a good eater but WILL NOT take f/t. This does not bather him, he always (for lack of a better word) BONKS the feeder and stays to make sure every thing is good. He is in the middle of switching her from mice to small rats. She is about 2.5 feet and about a golf ball around. She was eating every other week and hes wondering if he should keep feeding every other week or up her feeding schedual to every week after the switch. He says he doesn't want to "power feed" her. Is every week too often or is it ok?

When they are small, they need to be fed more often. As they grow, you can decrease the feeding if you like. If he plans on breeding her than she needs a little extra weight. Every 7-10 days usually works good. For the f/t thing. I would either wiggle it in front on some hemostats or leave a fully thawed rat in over night. After a while it will eat it. Sometimes it take a little while to switch them.

I got my boa to eat by thawing the mouse in a bag that was dipped into hot water. He won't eat wet mice. I think it dilutes the smell.

I fed my RTB every 5 days in the entire first year. He was over three feet and eating 2 small rats and I was about to bump him up to mediums. :D

Every 5 days is normally suggested. Although, a good sized prey item is fine once a week. I personally like feeding every 5 days for the first year.
