its both simple recessive and line breeding. i am not sure who is working on them. i think paul from bright albino is and i am sure some others as well

The stripe aspect is recessive, though im not sure it acts as a simple recessive. The color of the stripes are polygenic.

steve sykes (geckos etc.), paul allen (bright albino), and jeff galewood( jmg reptile) are some breeders that come to mind.... there are many more.

I have hatched red stripes from Red Stripe X Sunglows in the first generation, from several different unrelated females who are very unlikely to have had many stripes in their heritage.

full head to tip of tail stripes?

also if thats what you can claiming then you are saying stripes or rather red stripes are some form of co-dominance

have you ever considered that somewhere in your sunglows background there could be some raportor or aptor blood? thats not very far out of the realm of thinking. in fact it is quite possible

From my findings i have bred Redstripe x Bold stripe and out of 10 eggs 6 were patty stripes 3 were low grade redstripes and 1 was a high quality redstripe. Dunno how you want to take that but those are just my results

I had a mix of banded, jungle, and full head to tail stripes. I don't at all believe they are any sort of co dominance at all. I think that being recessive is a possibility, but all my experiences have pointed it as polygenic. It is not possible for there to have been RAPTOR or APTOR blood in them, as some of the females were born before RAPTORS and APTORS were introduced. It is possible that somewhere way back there were stripes in their heritage, but it would be amazing luck to get four het stripe females when as far back as I can findd on them their parents were banded. I'm just heading out to work but I will dig up some pictures later on and post them. I honestly don't feel like I know for sure the mode of inheritance for stripes in leopard geckos, but after years of working with jungles and stripes it has never seemed simple recessive.

If it were a true simple recessive the jungle pattern wouldn't be a possible outcome when breeding stripes, Only stripe and banded. It is an incomplete mode of inheritance.

This isnt to say you cant have animals that act as hets, because you most certainly can.

I vote for non-simple recessive.:main_thumbsup::main_thumbsup: That`s why they do not seem to follow what we know as recessive genetics, completely.

Ryan stated the results we had this year from our red stripe X bold stripe bell cross. In 2010 we will be doing more with red stripes. We hope to have our Retribution Reptiles website up at the end of this year and perhaps we will have more info to share on there after next breeding season.
