Regarding the Petition

Is there any way we could put together a petition without violating the TOS? I mean, there's no better place to find people who all agree about this topic than here, I would just hate to not be able to do something about it because the threads get closed.

Just wondering because I thought it was a great idea as well. I had actually been thinking about it myself.

well i do agree they are a little out of hand but the do have petitions on what you want. i am not a peta supporter at all. I actually love eating steak!!!

Backing an organization that supports terrorists for any reason is not ok in my book. I don't care what they're doing...or how much I agree with that specific thing....I will NEVER support anything that PETA does.

PETA uses extreme propoganda, including comparing commercial farming to the holocaust. PETA exposes children to grotesque images to 'educate' them on their causes. PETA euthanizes the large majority of animals that the 'rescue.'

PETA is linked to (i.e. actively funds) groups that are recognized as terrorist organizations by the US government. Organizations that commit violent crimes in the name of animal rights.

PETA doesn't want people to ..... own pets of any kind.

And for this reason, why should they be supportive of this particular situation? Seems like it would be a "conflict of interests" for them if you ask me. :main_huh:

I agree... IMO - I would never support PETA in anything because I disagree with their tactics and a lot of what they stand for.

That aside (this thread wasn't about PETA - but a good FYI ). The question was how does someone go about setting up a petition without violating the TOS. I believe this issue is due to liability of GeckoForum in such a situation (am I right, Kelli?). Maybe one of you could begin one yourself on your own site (with education, sign-up, etc) and spearhead it yourself. Then INVITE members of GeckoForum (and other reptile forums!) to visit it and sign it. Would this be in line with the TOS?

The other thread was closed by a moderator that runs a site where you can post about other companies, so maybe the intent is for us to go there... I don't know if eventually the site will be an offshoot of this one, or completely seperate, but it is as good a place as any to go for this purpose?

Well thats a tough one i do not agree with them giving people more for things like that, but i would not call them terrorists.

I would consider them people who get tired of nothing being done or being pushed around far to many times. These people belive that our world is turning to crap (which is true) but see no other option, i know that sounds bad but who started all the trouble?

Kinda like bullying kids and school shootings. I cant put all the blame on people who snap, and call them terrorists. Kids commit suicide because people bully them, but no one feels sorry for them! They only pay attention when someone snaps out of control.

If someone puts you in a cage and tortures you for years, you cant expect people to act normal after that treatment, we see it in the animal world all the time like abused dogs, an abused dog is like a loaded weapon ready to go off at any time, and maul someone.
