Hello! I am hoping to adopt a Leo soon, and I’m wondering which is better? Does anyone have any experience with these, I’m planning to get a 20 gallon, maybe 30 gallon tank. Thanks!

I've done them both. Repti-carpet is a solid substrate, but it needs to be cleaned often (I used to keep a spare and swap them out for cleaning. Also, sometimes the gecko gets claws or teeth stuck in the carpet.
Eco earth has worked well but if you feed mealworms they can bury themselves in the substrate.
My substrate of choice is ceramic tile.

The carpet needs to be cleaned once you find poops on it or dead crickets. When I use eco earth I don't change it at all. I used dermestid beetles as a cleanup crew.
