REPTILE SHOWS....

I've never bought anything AT a reptile show, but I met the breeder of my gecko at the show and said "Hey, you're from my hometown!" and went to them after the show to buy my animal. The deals are good, at the NH show they had this past April there was a guy selling racks and other random supplies really cheap. Even if you don't buy anything shows are good for networking and finding breeders of animals you might be interested in purchasing later.

Just go to a show and see what's there :).

They have super cheap supplies, for sure. I got 2 Visionarium cages for $150. Woohoo! That's like one if you buy it online. I don't know if the animals are less or not, but worst case scenario you don't have to pay shipping.

kingsnake always has a listing of upcoming shows.

from my experience shows are worth checking out even if you come home empty-handed (can't say i've ever actually managed to do that, though)

Yes you can get good deals at show. But beware....... only take the amount of money you can afford to spend and leave all credit cards at home.

You can save the most money on your feeders at the shows.

Just some food for thought...
You might want to buy your gecko from a breeder and not the person at the show that has 47 different species of animals. Yes he may have a cute little baby gecko for $15, but in my opinion you are much better off spending a little more and buying your new pet from a breeder not a wholesaler.

This makes me laugh because both of my Normal costed $30 and my Normal/Jungle costed $20, and were both perfectly healthy. The guys at Jack's Pets and Aquarium are getting ripped off!

Around.
Buy only from a breeder you know and trust.. otherwise there might just be a lot of heartbreak.. take it from me.. I bought a fattail, thinking it would cost me much less, but he passed away last night.. but all of my leopards from breeders are healthy! And they love to eat. And I like knowing that someone has watched them grow up.. and they know their exact birthday, yes it may not be super cheap but the peace of mind is worth every penny.
