not knowing where they are being shipped from shows a lack of responsibility on your part as well. you should always find out where they are being shipped from, and what the weather is there, and the hubs in between. don't mean to turn this around on you, but when you post this on the BOI, be prepared to answer that question there as well. That's just another strike though on this guy who sold them to you. He should have known better than to have shipped in this weather. I hope you get refunded, but i doubt you will get anything from paypal. Good luck on this, and definitely get a bad guy thread up on the BOI to at least warn others to stay far away from this guy.

Also Dennis, you need to file a complaint with kingsnake.com if that is where you saw his ad. This has that scumbag Daniel Strong's name written all over it.

Just from reading the emails back and forth, I would have never bought these geckos. There's so many red flags it's crazy....starting with $120 for 7 geckos shipped. No offense, but what were you going to do with them? Breed them? Yikes! I hope they were just for pets. I personally would not buy from an unknown and breed 15 dollar geckos.

Still, I feel sorry for you Dennis. It's too bad there's so many dishonest people in this hobby.

My suspicion is that this is really Daniel Strong aka "monkeybread"-
http://geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=78031

Can you see if any of the geckos Daniel had for sale match any of the ones you got from this Rick person?

When I saw that these poor geckos were from TX, my antenna went up immediately because of the above thread referred to, which is why I asked about other aliases. Even tho an unscrupulous seller can come up with new names and free email accounts, paypal is another matter. In addition to filing complaints on various BOI's, I would suggest filing a claim with paypal, including email correspondences and photos supporting your claim. Even if he's already transferred the money from paypal to his bank account, they'll go after it and freeze the funds until the dispute is resolved if they feel you have a valid claim.

I am sorry this happened to you. It is people like this that make it so hard for new responsible breeders to make it in this business. I hope you can get your money back but that still doesnt help those poor geckos. I hope you can get them healthy.

This is why I always buy from people who have a strong rep or I've talked to. I also agree with Shawn... he shouldn't even wanted to risk shipping them! It's over the 100's here!

Those poor leos... Sorry you had such bad luck :(

Referralls are good too, as all breeders don't necessarily do a lot of internet selling. Unknown sellers can also fake references.......... Live and learn Dennis, and be glad it wasn't for a lot more money.
