Hello all, i am sad to post that the tremper albino ive posted in the pics section didnt make it. she was taken to a vet because of a bacterial infection and died today. i am wondering if I should get another or leave the male tangerine alone. What do you guys think? I really want an albino. i live in Maine and there are not too many places to get leo's so i got mine from petco:main_lipsrsealed: and picked out the 2 diferent ones out of the bunch!

I'm so sorry to hear about your gecko. About getting another gecko, that is your choice. If you are thinking of getting a female, if you keep them together, they will breed, and another male would fight.... You could also consider getting a gecko shipped to you, depending on your price range

Well I’m sorry to hear about your gecko. The male gecko will be fine alone, but as Draba said, a male and female will breed, and two males would fight, so if you do decide to get another one, make sure to have another cage ready unless you want to breed. And then you need housing for the babies. And it is always an option to get one from the net.

With all the above said, I recall just reading a post the other day about a Reptile show in Maine soon.
As long as you have anouther tank for a new leopard gecko then its ok to get anouther one. Or you can just keep the one you have for now and maybe a few months or a year from now buy anouther one. The choice is really yours but you will need anouther tank for a new leopard gecko.

I'm sorry to hear about your lil' one. First, I worked for petco as a reptile specialist for 3 years and left because of their "corporate" attitude toward the animals they sale. Anyone getting any animal from any corporate petstore should take it to a vet ASAP. As for your wanting a new leo that would be totally up to you, but I don't believe in mixing leos unless during breeding season. Leo's are solitary animals and if mixed one WILL dominate causing stress to the others. I understand many people do mix leos. But it is my experience they do much better alone.

Thanks everyone. They were in seperate 10 gallon tanks. I work at a pet store so i get everything i need for free...tanks light bulbs ect! and we dont have leo's because it is family owned and we olny sell things from breeders...not mass producers. i think ill go to the expo in portland when it comes around and take a look. ive been reading up on breeding and with all the help from you AWESOME people im sure i can do it!!
