Tile? Repti-Carpet? I am torn between the 2. Paper towels will drive my mom crazy cause she uses enough already.

Tile: Its not that much money right? And will home depot cut the tile to the right size? How does it transmit UTH heat

Carpet: Its like 7 bucks. Do these things last long? Are they easy to clean? And how does it transmit heat?

Thanks,
Kyle

Ill tell you what I have never had tile but Im goingto get it as soon as I get money to replace my paper towels, The reason is I used to have repti-carpet for an Iguana I had and it trapped smell like no other, so when I would go to clean it out it was like trying to wash a paper towel, just without the dissolving part, but the stains/smell would stay in no matter what.

I got a 10 gallon. Does it transfer heat well? And i feel like carpet would be too thin and would like burn from the UTH

Im using 3 layers or paper towels and its thick enough not to get to hot, I actually have to use a lamp too to get it at 90 degrees.

THe Home Depots that have tile cutters will cut your tile, and many of them don't. For not too much money you can get a hand tile cutter (not the electric ones). I just got one for $15. Otherwise, you have to look at all the tile available and try to piece together something that will fit. Repti carpet needs to be washed regularly and does start to smell. Tile holds the heat well. I have found that a Zoo-med mini heater (1-5 gallons) used with tile will heat the warm area of a 10 gallon to the low 90's.
