I picked out two I was hoping would turn out to be females, they where 5 or so grams and looked like females to me, now at 19 / 20 grams I should be able to sex them for sure right?

I've sexed younger ones correctly then theses but want to make sure it should be clear at around 20 grams as I think they may be the same sex.

I've had that happen also. But a while back someone here showed a trick using a spall led flashlight to sex at a very young age. Many tried it with great success. I will try to find the post for you.

I had no luck using the flashlight trick. This season was the first time I've hatched an appreciable number of males and even at 20 grams it was tricky. I've logged more hours looking at gecko bottoms than I ever thought I would.

Another way which was found by ElapidSVT of GeckoForums and which may help with sexing younger juveniles is by using a powerful LED flashlight to visualize the hemipenal arteries in male geckos or the lack of them in females.

By the time my gecko was 20 grams he was obviously a boy. IME if you have a male it is obvious quite early.
