Another question I have is, how DARK do the pores have to be to be considered a male?
I have to unmistakable males, whose pores are just a clear V without mistaking... but these others... they have very slight pores, oh I am so confused!

U know what is a good way, and a way that i use that works really well...?

Sit the leo on the palm of your hand. And with the other hand, lift it's tail up and over it's body, and bend it back towards the head of the gecko (obviously not all the way to the head, but u get what i am saying, lol)... when you do this it kind of "stretches everything out", and if it is indeed a male, you will be able to see the separation of the 2 "bumps" (glands) alot easier... they will become more recognizable by doing this... And to others that have never used this method and question it, don't worry, it is not harming the gecko in any way, and the gecko will be fine, lol.

here's an example of what i mean...

(...and obviously it's alot easier if 2 hands are used, but i had to try and take a picture of it while doing it, so i had to try to get it someway with just 1 hand, lol)

i am thinking a young male on the first one (or a puffy older female) and a female on the second one :D

I vote both female. The first one IS a bit puffy, but not enough for me to consider "male". Comparing them to your hand, they certainly look old enough to sex...but I don't see that hemipenes could fit anywhere on that first one. Even a little pair. LOL. Just my 2c.

I agree with Maia. My reasoning as well is that the pores are more of a dimple and not a defined hole.

I would say both are female. Some of my girls have defined dimples like that but males will have pores that are producing 'wax' (or whatever that stuff is.)

Lol, thanks Chris for that method, I will try it =]

I just hope both of these are female >.< *crossing my fingers*

No problem... sorry for the little bit of "gecko porn" there, but thats really the only way i could show you! lolll

Any given rate, did you try that method, and are you able to tell a littkle better?

If that still doesn't work, then look at the pores... if the "V-shape" pores actually have pores in them, its a male for sure... if there are no pores, or even just like dimples, then it is a female for sure. I have a male myself that if you were to look for the "bulges", you would think it was actually a female, cuz you would not be able to see them, when in actuality, they are just very little... (lol, poor fella!) ...But then when you look at the pores, you see they are indeed pores, proving it is a male.

Well, I went to sex all my leos last night because I was just curious if anyone changed, lol. The two males that I have for sure have DARK pores, I mean unmistakable. (They are also in with females, so maybe that has something to do with it?) Everyone else doesnt have pores like that so I think they are all female. They were suppose to be female, except for one... I havent been able to tell on that one since I have gotten it...
The two in the pics are still juvies, but they were sold as females.. I hope they stay that way.
I have not tried your method yet, I havent been home lol. Im at work now >.<
