I was hoping somebody could guage how old Shakers is by the size. He/She's about 3 - 3.5 inches long. BTW, what morph is he/she? I was thinking Jungle but I could be wrong. I don't know anything about morphs

"Hey, what's up?"

If you know what morphs or age these geckos may be, post. I'd really appreciate the info.

Shakers: 3 - 3.5 in.
Nike: 4 - 4.5 in.

Yours is a normal jungle, and the other one a normal.

It's hard to tell how old they are by size since they all grow differently.

That being said, you should really get a new substrate. That wood shaving stuff doesn't really cut it. Maybe some reptile carpet or tiles.

Thanks for the info. They're both getting cranky with eachother because of them sharing a 10 gallon. I'm going to take mine and put it in my room with some paper towels and plastic butter tubs as hides, and I'll tell my brother about using aspen. What exactly is bad about it?

P.S. - What would be a good way to guage how old they are?

There really is no way to know how old they are. It's like any other animal, like a dog. Its pretty damn near impossible to tell just by looking at it.

Also, it's just not something recommended for them. I have actually never seen anyone use that for geckos. I've seen it with snakes and that's fine. But my thing is that is food escapes it's dish then it's gonna hide. They could come out and start gnawing on the gecko if they get hungry because the gecko is soft skinned. Also, there's a chance they get some in their mouth when feeding- that's never good.

I've noticed that too. My brother is an idiot. I'm going to have to take care of them myself.

Cute Geckos but it's going to be really hard to tell how old they are.

Just some advice get rid of the wood shavings you need something solid especially since they're so small; paper towels, repti-carpet, tile, etc. I would also suggest separating them because Nike is really skinny and it can be that he's really stressed, not getting another food, can be sick, etc. hard to say but you should separate them. I think it would be best for both to gain weight and be easier to notice any problems and until you are able to sex them for sure. You don't want any breeding issues or anything like that.

What do they normally eat and how often?

A video of them eating. I chose the "I'm Feeling Lucky" for the AudioSwap and this is what came up:main_laugh:

BTW, I tried feeding them earlier and they wouldn't touch it. I used some new worms but that's it. Shakers is also about to shed, is it okay to move her to a seperate place to shed? (Nike lays in the moist hide all the time)

yupp so they can lick up the calcium when they need it

Cool, hey, do you think it would be good to put one of my geckos that's shedding, into a tupperware container with a most box and some heat?

that would probably stress her out i would leave her in there...

K...now both are in the hide, and the one that needs to shed whose smaller will probably get forced out. I'm working on seperating them.
