Shed stuck in eye

Okay, so my little Tremper girl had a rough shed and ended up with a bit stuck in her eye. She had the eye clamped shut and a bit of shed was sticking out. Over the course of several days I gently teased it away with q-tip. There appears to be a tiny amount left in there. I'm not sure what to do. I've been moistening her eye with a q-tip, but that last bit is just in there. She won't open her eye enough for me to see if any damage has been done. Is there an ointment or anything I can put on there to help her out? Should I keep moistening it?

Basically, what do I do if she won't open her eye? It's been about a week now...

Here are some pics of what I'm dealing with. It's now in both eyes. I'm guessing she shed again and now there's some stuck in the other eye. She can't open her eyes at all now. :(

yup looks like stuck shed. We used an antibiotic eye drop called Tobramycin that worked well for us. ((HUGS))

I would moisten that skin and pull it off too.

I'll give it a shot! Where do find Tobramycin? Or do I need to get it from the vet?

Thanks for the advice. I feel like such a bad mom... :(

Don't feel too bad. At least you are working on getting it out. The stuck eye shed seems to be a common issue lately. Good Luck!

Sorry to hijack your thread, but can they get "stuck eye shed" w/ noticing other shed?? I just got a gecko, but I noticed one eye looks just like your picture. I honestly don't know if it was like that when I got her, but I didn't notice it within 24 hrs of getting her. (When I first got her, I tried to leave her alone as much as possible and just let her get used to her aqarium and cagemates (she came w/ 2 other females) so I never investigated her closely although did watch her off and on exploring the aquarium, but I may have misssed it. (I'm just wondering if she had shed recently before leaving her past home, I don't know)
