While I was out of the house my mom went in and sprayed my room that has the geckos and all of my worm colonies with flea spray (I dont know why my room doesnt have fleas) do I need to be worried about the chemicals harming the geckos and the worms? When I found out I opened all the windows and the door to air it out. This is why I need a deadbolt on my door

Can you give more detail on what spray she used? Name and ingredients if possible. I would suggest just to be extra careful rinse the tubs with soap and water inside and out. Definitely clean any water bowls and replace paper towel.

:( Sorry to hear that. If possible keep those windows open and a fan blowing. If she sprayed up in the air over your feeders I would get rid of them all. Yes as mentioned rinse everything out.

She just sprayed my bed. I have moved all the tubs out while I air it out. Its called Adams flea tick and mosquito spray. Its water based and main ingredients are pyrethrins .20% piperonyl butoxide .75% n-octyl bicycloheptene dicarboximide 2% concentrated aloe vera, aloe vera extract, natural lanolin.

Yeah, I'd be worried. But first I'd have to give someone a b*T#$ slap! What was she thinking???? Talk about bad ideas!

Yeah i am seriously ticked off. I told her she is going to have to replace all of my feeders which include 2000 superworms, 5000 mealworms, 3 cups of silkworms and 100 crickets. Ill just have to count the beetles of the mealworms and superworms as a loss.

Pyrethrins alone is toxic to reptiles. Keep an eye for neurological symptoms. However it was a one time incident so they should be okay. I don't think your mom would have sprayed directly at them. They should be fine.

Throwing away the feeders is a very good idea. Id definitely give a good cleaning to all your tubs though. Oh, and wash your blankets before you let your leos on it ;)

Im soaking all hides food and water bowls right now and then spraying them with reptile disinfectant and spraying tubs and tanks with the disinfectant and change the paper towels. I took all of the veggies away from feeders and changing their bedding but im probably going to go the paranoid route and toss all of the feeders. Hopefully this one time will not harm any of my geckos. Although im mad about having to replace all of the feeders i will be devestated if any harm came to my geckos.

Tell your mom that she should have her pets on flea PREVENTION (frontline, advantix, comfortis, advantage- depending on species, cat or dog) and that if she used flea PREVENTION monthly, she wouldn't have to use flea spray.

And if you're REALLY feeling ballsy, tell her that you know someone who would bet her ENTIRE bank account on the fact that ANY veterinarian would NOT recommend anything made by Adams.

I hope all your critters are okay. That really sucks.

I have told her repeatedly and I have even bought it for all of the animals at one point but I cant afford to take care of their animals and mine. The crazy thing is none of her animals are even allowed in my room so there would be no reason to even spray in here. Well there goes all of my feeders and all of the hides that I cant disinfect. If she had just waited a month I would have been moved out and she canspray wherever she wants.
