I Made a post earlier asking if my female was eggbound, and came to a conclusion that she was. So I started to call the vet when I remembered that I breed her on the 7th originally, then around two weeks later, (20th) The eggs look undeveloped to me, could they been from the second breeding? But then I see 4 so she's defiantly eggbound, right?

He didn't do a X-ray, but he turned of all the lights and flashlighted her, also felt around... I thought the same thing so he took like 15 min. looking at her and he said he was sure. I pointed at the white circles then and he said they were fat pockets. He has experience with reptiles and even breeds cresties, so I don't know????

Well, I suppose we will find out. Hopefully he's right and i'm way off. I just know that I have seen quite a few gravid female geckos. She DOES have fat pads, they're just below the eggs. Anyways, just make sure that she is well supplemented with calcium. Sometimes eggs are hard to see with only a flashlight on a gecko that's a little pudgy to begin with.

If she starts to appear sick, as in major lethargy, acting lifeless upon handling, or continues to deteriorate in any way, she should either go back and see someone else, or go somewhere else. Good luck.

Okay, the red circles represent the eggs I see. The blue squares are the geckos "fat pads" which are closer to the vent.

AHH! Okay, so that's what I thought. Since you circled 3 does that mean you think she's eggbound? And is it possible that she could be right on track if it's from the second breeding? I thought I trusted the vet until this..... Because I know you have experience in geckos! :(

I'm not saying he's wrong or untrustworthy...i'm not supposed to do that. According to my vet tech ethics.

I just think i'm right. :D :p

Right now I see 3 eggs. I really don't know if she's eggbound or not. Is she acting sick at all or is she just bigger? She could just be holding out for a while for whatever reason. But like I said, my limit is usually 5 weeks, and i've only had to have oxytocin given once ever. The gecko laid eggs an hour after the injection was given. I supplemented her with more calcium, and she has since been able to push them out on her own. This could be normal for her. Have you bred this gecko before or is it her first time? If it's not, how long has she gone in the past before laying? This could be a factor as well...first time mommies are more at risk.

First time, She's lost 7 grams... and her appetite has been decreasing to nothing for the past 3 weeks. The vet told me to give her warm soaks (no brainer) and take her out in the sunlight for 15 min. a day, And start supplementing the D3 every other day. (she normally gets it once a week) She's still active and drinking water, only going to the restroom about 1 time a week.

i agree with the vet she is not egg bound, if you look at the very first photo of her, it looks at though she is actually ovulating. ok, she has lost 7 grams since when?

i do not think she is egg bound now she might be stressed from the breedings and ovulation. leopard gecko eggs are not round rather they are oval. is the male still in with her? and what are the ambient temps where you are keeping her?
