Close ups of current tank (though the pictures were taken when the tank was first finished roughly 2 years ago):

Left side (cool side):
So this includes the main cave with two tunnels in there, a hide I made on top that they never really use, and the moist hide.

Middle:
So here you can basically just see the food/ calcium dish (now discarded and something else I made for same purpose is in its place), and the water dish. The water dish is the same one you buy at petstores that has the tall blue-ish clear-ish jug sitting on top... Except that look extremely out of place so I covered it with cloth bandages (the big square ones like for your knees) and then grouted it to match the rest. You can also see the opening to the cave on the right (the warm side).

Right side (warm side):
This side also has a main cave with two tunnels. There is an undertank heater under there. Above that is one of the hides that I originally had from a set I bought when I first got Calypso. They like sleeping up under that occasionally. The rest is just kinda decorative statues from the same set.

Yes, I know I have a ridiculous temperature strip thing stuck up there. I also (which you may not be able to see) have a digital thermometer with a probe that has the wire wrapped behind/under the hide so I could pay attention to the temperature under that hide. The ridiculous strip was my lousy effort at keeping track of temperature above the hide since I have a night-lamp/ red heat bulb (used mainly for viewing purposes at night) that sits above this side on top of the lid.

Also, as far as substrate goes, I use a tan repticarpet. And there's a big chunk of stone I got from home depot in the middle. Artemis likes to sleep in the middle on that piece of stone often times, usually hovering over the water dish. Calypso, my more secretive girl, likes to stay under either hide, but will occasionally come out to sleep on the water dish too or sleep in the shelving on the walls. :)

Oh, and here are the girls of course, because I forgot to include them! (Silly me!)

Artemis on left and Calypso on right (when they were first getting acquainted before moving in together):

Set up my daughters tank last night. It stayed at 90 in warm side and 66 on cool. I have put a towel on the top to keep heat in. The center has a moist hide. We will either get slate or tiles for the floor and maybe some fake plants today. She would like to go get one today

Note that this was posted a year ago and the site had a number of months during the past year where it was flaky so the original poster may not be aware of your questions. Also, I'm having a hard time understanding what you mean by your second question.

This is Samwise Gamgee's upgrade. A 20 gallon bioactive (no loose substrate available to the gecko.) There is very compacted moss root filled clay under the moss and the dwarf coleus is in a pot inside a piece of bark with moss on top. I collected the moss and bark in the woods, a cheep alternative to buying it lol... Heat mat for heat- Sam is hiding in the small hollow bark, you can see in the big piece of bark there is another hide and his vitamin dish. A beautiful example of a no loose substrate setup, topped off with a chunk of Amber in the bottom right . I do have isopods in there as well. 20220323_144634.jpg 20220323_144734.jpg 20220323_144726.jpg

Hi this is my Female Adult Leopard Gecko tank. We named her Izzy. The left side aka the giant log thing is her cool side then we have her water bowl, food bowl with calcium in it, her humid hide and then to the right is her hot side which is her coconut. She has a zoo med heat mat on the side of her tank but I don't currently have any money for a thermostat so we are just doing the heat mat for now and it seems to be going well. She does have a light but according to the thermometer that is no longer in the tank well the probe anyway because it kept coming off the glass it was too hot with the lamp and it was like 97 or so degrees and got so hot we were concerned. She does have a thermometer/hydrometer on the cool side but I don't think it's accurate either so I'm in the middle of looking for both sorry for the long explanation. Any advice on the enclosure would be great.

It's been a bit since I have been here. I'm down to 1 gecko now. I just cleaned up and updated her tank yesterday. The setup is temporary since I plan on switching to a loose substrate again, I can't afford the new stuff right now. I've had at least one since about 2009. Back in the day, it was a no-go to have any loose substrate. I've been looking into the new care and how well UV and the loose substrate work. I did have half of the tank with eco earth but I have recently found out that is also a no-go. Until I can get either the organic topsoil/play sand combo or the Bio Dude's stuff, this works fine for now. There is an under-tank heater that seems to not work as it should anymore, so there is a ceramic heater on top that is controlled by a thermostat from Zoomed.
