:main_laugh: Everyone makes fun of them, and I admit, the do not look good but man, when you are raised on them, you are hooked. :main_yes:

They don't have grits in California?!

Matt never liked grits until he started dating me. lol. Then I showed him how to eat them....

The first step is to put lots of butter or cheese...then salt...you have to have salt. Then you can eat them! O yeah, and they have to be hot too. And not lumpy! That's my grit criteria....lmao...you know you were raised in the south when grits have standards.

nooooo... no grits out here! it's sad... :(

yes, my grits have to be juuuuuust right, nice a creamy with cheese, salt, butter, and sometimes some fresh bacon, THAT is the best! :)

I'm stoked about my SS gift .... i hear from my Santa that it should be here next week! :) I seriously have no idea what it could be... guess i'll just have to wait.

***folds arms, sticks out tongue, and pleads to know what her present is***

I lived in houston as a child and yes indeed I did eat grits when there. I can find grits here if I wanted to eat boiled buckshot again, but no thank you.

I can cook better than Wolfgang Puck, so I demand grits cooked right, or I won't eat them. Most people in NJ don't have wheels on their home, so grits don't sell too well here:main_laugh:

BTW, I lived in a trailer in Wickenburg AZ as a child too :main_thumbsup:

I want mine made from coursely ground corn with hominy! lots of butter and bacon grease is how I ate them when I was younger. Some salt never hurt either, though I am more of a fan of white pepper and spicy hot food.

I also tried grits and I agree with Jeremy. I don't know what it was but they weren't good haha. Here in Pittsburgh we just do the simple stuff; pancakes and french toast and sometimes Mexican Breakfeast Buritos.
